Value Of Accommodation And Food Service Activities Increased Year-On-Year In May

The value of accommodation and food service activities increased year-on-year in May, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO) Monthly Services Index May 2022 (Provisional) April 2022 (Final).

According to a statement published on CSO.ie, the value of accommodation and food service activities decreased by 0.2% month-on-month in May, but increased by 247% year-on-year.

Meanwhile, the volume of services output of accommodation and food and service activities decreased by 0.8% month-on-month in May, but increased by 221% year-on-year, according to the statement published on CSO.ie, which also noted that the value of services in the case of accommodation and food services activity decreased by 8.5% in May of 2022 compared to pre-COVID-19 pandemic February of 2020, while the volume of services in the case of accommodation and food services activities decreased by 13.7% in May of 2020 compared to pre-pandemic February of 2020.
