Choice Hotels Planning Multi-Million Euro Revamp Of Several Irish Venues

Irish hotel group Choice Hotels has announced that it has agreed a management contract with the owners of two Galway hotels, one of which is the five-star G Hotel. Additionally, the group is currently in the process of finalising the acquisition of the Waterside House Hotel in the Co. Dublin town of Donabate.

The Irish Times reports that the group's chief executive, Andy O'Neill, envisages investing several million euro in upgrading several of its hotels. According to O'Neill, "This will involve significant spend on the G Hotel, the Meyrick, an upgrade at Croydon [in the UK], and we will be re-positioning the Waterside House Hotel as a boutique hotel on the beach in Dublin after a major refurbishment this year."

It's thought that Choice may decided to rename Galway's Meyrick hotel as well as refurbishing it. With the agreement of the management contract of the two hotels in Galway and the acquisition of the Waterside House Hotel, the number of venues in Choice's portfolio will rise to nine.
