Co. Antrim Town Ballycastle To Get New Four-Star Hotel

A new four-star hotel and spa called The Salthouse is set to open in the Co. Antrim town of Ballycastle in time for The Open golf tournament this July following an investment of £2.4 million.

The four-star, 24-bedroom venue, which will create 45 jobs upon its opening, was developed by Denis and Therese McHenry, and is located on Dunamallaght Road next to seven self-catering chalets that are also operated by the McHenrys.

"A Significant Investment"

The Belfast Telegraph quotes Denis McHenry as saying, "The construction of The Salthouse has been a significant investment. We hope the hotel will appeal to a wide range of visitors from the Republic of Ireland, Great Britain, Europe and the US.

"Golf tourism will, of course, be a major target market for us, so we are delighted to have the hotel ready and the official opening in advance of The Open. We will be opening for bookings in late June."
