Co. Cork's Eccles Hotel Already 45% Booked For July

The owner of Co. Cork's Eccles Hotel and Spa has said that the venue is already 45% booked for July and at 40% average capacity for August.

The Irish Times quotes the venue's owner, Ray Byrne as saying, "We are at 45% occupancy for July already and hoping to get to 65% for the month as a whole. And we're at 40% for August and hoping to get close to 70%. That would be great."

Domestically Driven

Byrne expects sales to be driven by the domestic market and does not expect to host many foreign guests during the remainder of 2020.

He stated, "This year the focus will on our home market and leisure business."

According to Byrne, the hotel's average room rate is currently €110, excluding VAT and breakfast.

However, he still anticipates that the venue's revenues will be €1 million less than last year at €2 million due to the COVID-19 crisis.
