Dalata Re-emphasizes Its Interest In Acquiring Lease For New Ballsbridge Hotel

Re-emphasizing an assertion made in May of this year, Dalata has once again declared its interest in operating the hotel proposed for the site of the former Jurys Inn in Dublin's Ballsbridge.

The hotel group manages the existing hotel on the site, The Ballsbridge Hotel, which is being redeveloped by Chartered Land. Dalata's lease for The Ballsbridge Hotel was extended to March 2020 last week, and group chief executive Pat McCann told The Business Post that he is hoping to acquire the lease for the new 200-bedroom hotel proposed for the site.

"If An Opportunity Works"

McCann commented, "Needless to say, we have a good relationship with the guys and if an opportunity works for both of us, we'll do a deal and if it doesn't, we won't. So we said to the guys in Chartered Land if there was an opportunity to extend the lease, we'd be delighted. They are amenable and it helps us as we have so much demand."
