Decision To Reject Kilmainham Hotel Plans Appealed To An Bord Pleanála

Ladas Property Company, which is part of the Comer Group, has appealed to An Bord Pleanála to overturn Dublin City Council's decision to reject the company's proposal to demolish a vacant used car dealership building at Kearns Place in Old Kilmainham, Dublin, and construct a six-storey hotel in its place.

The proposed hotel would include 80 bedrooms, a restaurant and a rooftop café.

"Overly Dominant"

Dublin City Council said that the proposed hotel would be "overly dominant" and "would appear overbearing and incongruous on the streetscape", as reported by The Irish Times.

A ruling on Ladas Property Company's appeal is due by July 7.
