The Everglades Hotel in Derry has unveiled the results of a €118,000 renovation, which includes a complete facelift of the Library Bar, featuring new mirrored panelling, marble tables and reupholstered furniture – to reflect a new colour scheme of dark blues, rusts and florals.
Additionally, the ground floor has been completely recarpeted, and the Grill Restaurant also has a new look, with reupholstered floral furniture, walls, woodwork and natural planting, to reflect the new brown-and-green colour scheme.
Newly installed ornate blinds and antique paintings complete the upgrade.
‘Busy Summer Period’
“This year has been a busy one for the Everglades, and for the city of Derry, as we’ve seen an increase in foreign travel to the area and the domestic market remains strong,” said Sam Denning, general manager at the Everglades Hotel.
“The completion of the new look comes as we are gearing up for the busy summer period.”
Grand Ballroom
Renovations were also carried out in the Grand Ballroom and its bar and lounge areas, with a feature ceiling and new soft furnishings added.
The four business suites have been upgraded with new IT capabilities, upholstery and painting, while the painting has also been refreshed in the hotel’s 64 bedrooms.
‘Seasonal Menus’
“We’re proud to provide the finest hospitality, with an excellent food offering, using the very best of local provenance, which is reflected across our seasonal menus,” said Denning.
“We also have a wonderful array of local artists providing entertainment every weekend, and they are loved by our local and international guests alike.”
