Harvey's Point Hotel Invests €1M In New Conference Facilities

Four-star Donegal hotel Harvey's Point has invested €1 million in the development of new conference facilities in an effort to attract more corporate clients.

The new conference centre, named The Garden Suite, is aiming to host up to 50 conferences per year, catering for a total of 4,000 delegates, according to The Sunday Business Post.

In the past, the hotel would close at the end of the summer season and open only for a few days in winter over Christmas, leading to problems with retaining staff in December. However, owners Deirdre McGlone and her husband Marc Gysling decided to keep Harvey's Point open for the all year round in 2017.

McGlone commented: "We can now offer staff year-round employment. Of course, this brings with it some challenges and uppermost ensuring that we have adequate turnover to cover the costs of the additional opening. Our plan is to use our new conference facilities to bring in revenue in the off-season and reduce the effect of seasonality."
