The group recently marked the groundbreaking of the first avid hotels location in Mexico.
The first Mexican avid hotels venue, which is being built at Boulevard Paseo del Mineral S/N, Col. Emiliano Zapata, Fresnillo, Zacatecas, is expected to open in the spring of 2020 and will be a six-storey, 95-bedroom property.
In a statement on IHG's website, the group's chief operating officer for Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean, Jorge Apaez, said, "We are pleased to partner with Operadora MBA to develop the first avid hotel in Mexico. This groundbreaking further solidifies the brand's increasing momentum and we look forward to introducing avid hotels to Mexico. We believe this brand will fill an unmet need in the market and provide great value for guests seeking high-quality hotel accommodations that cater to both business and leisure travellers."
Other Openings And Developments
An additional 10 avid hotels properties are expected to open in the US by the end of this year. IHG also has more avid hotels properties in development in Mexico and Canada, and recently signed a deal to open the brand's first hotel in Germany.
