Irish Hotelier Hospitalised In Spain With Head Injuries

Tom Moran, owner of the 4-star Red Cow Moran Hotel on Dublin's Naas Road, has been placed in an induced coma after falling and sustaining head injuries.

Moran was a guest at the wedding of publican Charlie Chawke's daughter, with sources confirming to the Irish Independent he had a fall a number of days later, requiring hospitalisation for internal bleeding.

The Limerick born hotelier, had previously owned hotels across Britain, but agreed a price of €455 million to sell nine of his hotels to Dalata in December 2014.

The Mayor of Limerick, Liam Galvin, said "The people of Limerick are 100 per cent supportive of him. He has been more than generous with his time and money when it comes to the GAA in Limerick. I think for the whole community in Limerick, especially the GAA community, Tom is in their thoughts and prayers."
