Killarney's Muckross Park Hotel Expects Strong 2018

Accounts for Co. Kerry's five-star Muckross Park Hotel reveal that the venue experienced a post-tax loss of €198,732 in 2016.

According to The Irish Independent, this followed a post-tax loss of €836,804 in 2015, which was primarily attributed to once-off transaction costs arising from iNua Hospitality's purchase of the hotel.

Despite the post-tax loss, iNua Hospitality directors asserted that the business recorded strong earnings in 2016 before interest tax depreciation and amortisation, and that it looks set to record strong earnings again for 2017 and the year ahead based on management accounts and budgets.

Furthermore, the company's gross profit rose from €3.8 million to €4.8 million in 2016, while employment numbers at the Muckross Park company increased from 142 to 165, with staff costs jumping from €2.3 million to €2.8 million.
