Limerick Strand Hotel To Host IHF Mid-West Ball

Limerick Strand Hotel has been chosen as host venue for the 2023 Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) Mid-West Tourism Ball on Monday 17 April.

Details

The tourism fundraising ball has not taken place since 2019, due to COVID-19. The mid-west branch of the IHF has hosted this Gala Dinner since 2013 with the key aim of raising funds for local tourism initiatives in the region.

"We are thrilled to have the Mid-West Tourism Ball back at The Limerick Strand, and to welcome our regional colleagues to enjoy an evening of gracious hospitality and fun. I am also looking forward to presenting the coveted Recognition Award on the night," said Stephen O'Connor, general manager, The Limerick Strand.

The black-tie event raises funds to help support events that drive visitors to the region, with monies raised from previous years supporting various tourism initiatives over the years.

The ball will take place in theShannon Suite with over 400 guests expected to attend the evening with MC James Sexton. With an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients, executive chef Patrick Anslow and his culinary team will serve Irish and international cuisine, using locally sourced produce where possible and tracing all the food. The team will be supported by the hospitality students from LCETB's Hospitality Education & Training Centre, who will be assisting on the night and responsible for creating the starter course and dishes served by the students.
