Maldron Hotel Sandy Road Completes Refurbishment

The Maldron Hotel Sandy Road, Galway, has unveiled the results of an extensive €9 million refurbishment programme.

Owned and operated by Dalata Hotel Group, the venue's revamp involved the addition of 61 extra bedrooms and enhanced guest amenities such as the Grain & Grill Bar and Restaurant, Red Bean Coffee Roastery and a business centre that has six state-of-the-art meeting rooms.

Officially Relaunched

The hotel was officially relaunched on Monday October 8 by Lord Mayor of Galway Niall McNelis and Dalata chairman John Hennessy.

Commenting on the hotel's relaunch, Dalata CEO Pat McCann said, “We are delighted to officially relaunch our Maldron Hotel Sandy Road and I would especially like to thank Lord Mayor Niall McNelis for taking the time to be part of our celebratory event to mark the occasion. With the vibrancy of Galway City and increased interest in Galway city as a destination, we want to ensure that tourists can enjoy an affordable four star hotel with exceptional amenities. We are especially proud that this latest refurbishment resulted in the creation of 20 jobs.”
