Mount Juliet Resort Records Pretax Loss Of €3.3m

Co. Kilkenny's five-star Mount Juliet hotel and golf resort recorded a pretax loss last year despite the venue's revenues remaining broadly in line.

As reported by The Irish Times, recently filed accounts for Mount Juliet Unlimited Company reveal that the resort experienced a pre-tax loss of €3.3 million in 2017, following a profit of €439,748 the previous year. Meanwhile, the company recorded revenues of €8.6 million last year.

Staff Statistics

The accounts also revealed that the company employed 102 people last year with staff costs coming to €4.9 million.

Directors' Note

A note from the company's directors included with the accounts stated, "The directors expect to continue to invest in the business in the coming year with a view to achieving managed growth and profitability in the group’s operations."
