New Head Chef At Hayfield Manor

Stephen Sullivan has been appointed head chef at Hayfield Manor, Cork. Stephen, who is originally from Dublin, relocated to Cork in February to assume the role.

Stephen is a former student of ITT Dublin, completing his certificate level studies in 2006. He then progressed his career by obtaining a degree in the culinary arts in 2010. During his time of continued studies, Stephen developed a keen passion for producing high quality cuisine.

Following college Stephen went on to work in some of the finest establishments in Dublin, most notably Chapter One, The Shelbourne, The Westbury, The Merrion and until recently The Marker Hotel.

Speaking about his background Stephen said: “I began work as a kitchen porter at the age of 16 working alongside my brother, within 6 months I was promoted to commis chef. However the defining moment of my career was when I was handed my first white cheffing jacket and since that moment, cooking has been my passion.”

Stephen added: “My first priority as head chef is to build on making relationships with local farmers by sourcing local and seasonal artisan produce which will inevitably bring food from the farm to fork.”
