New Co. Antrim Guesthouse Nears Completion

Development work on a new £1.75 million guesthouse and restaurant north-west of Belfast near Divis Mountain is nearing completion.

Owned by developer Paul McLarnon, the so-called Standing Stones Lodge is comprised of a six-bed guesthouse, apartment, 16 self-catering units and a 100-seater restaurant, as reported by The Belfast Telegraph.

McLarnon asserted, "It’s fitted out to the highest specification. You have to see it to really appreciate it."

Exploiting The Void

The developer explained that he decided to invest in the area to exploit the void of hospitality venues near Divis Mountain. He stated, "There was nothing there — the people wanted it. I chose that location because it’s an ideal opportunity."

While a launch date has yet to be confirmed, McLarnon expects it to be only a matter of weeks until the doors open at Standing Stones Lodge. He said, "First we will open the accommodation area. At the minute, the restaurant is tied up with licensing, but when that is sorted, we hope to be open for business."
