O'Callaghan Group To Invest €30m In Three Dublin Hotels

The O'Callaghan Hotel Group has announced plans to invest €30 million on refurbishing Dublin's Alexander, Davenport and Stephen's Green hotels as part of a €100 million investment programme that also includes the construction of a new 155-bedroom hotel in Cambridge.

The Irish Times reports that the redevelopment of the Alexander Hotel is scheduled for completion at the end of October, at which point it will be rebranded as The Alex, with work on the Davenport and Stephen's Green hotels expected to start before the end of 2017.

The investment in the three Dublin venues is intended to reposition the group at the high end of the city's hotel market. O'Callaghan Group chief financial officer Eoin Likely asserted that the work will "enhance all areas of our business."
