Planning Approved For New Donnybrook Hotel

Former head of Topaz and founder of Smiles Dental Emmet O'Neill has received permission to develop a new six-storey hotel on Dublin's Donnybrook Road.

According to The Irish Independent, Dublin City Council has given O'Neill the green light to construct the hotel next to Donnybrook fire station, subject to several amendments agreed with the council's planners.

Conditions Of Construction

Among other measures agreed to by O'Neill's Kouchin firm, the number of rooms planned for the hotel has been reduced from 78 to 71 to lessen the impact of the building's bulk, height and massing on the surrounding area. Meanwhile, the capacity of the venue's set-down area will be limited to two vehicles to avoid any potential obstruction of the next door fire station.
