Rochestown Park Hotel Returns to Profit For The Year

Windsor Surprise, the company that operates Cork's four-star Rochestown Park Hotel, has filed accounts showing that the hotel has returned to profit in the 12 months to the end of December last year.

The newly filed accounts for the 149-bedroom hotel show it had a pre-tax profit of €217,430 in 2015, with an increase in revenue of 5 per cent to €10 million. Windsor Surprise had previously reported a pre-tax loss of €67,066 in 2014. The hotel saw a decrease in employees to 199, however staff costs remained fixed at €4 million, reports the Irish Examiner.

The directors' report stated that management is pleased with the trading performance for the period and plans to "capitalise on positive sales growth to contribute to sustained profitability in the future". In regards to its future, the directors added that "the company will continue to consolidate its market share given the economic recovery facing the hotel sector".
