Ireland Scoops Multiple Nominations In 2017 World Travel Awards
Several of Ireland's most renowned cities, sights and venues are in the running to take home trophies at this year's World Travel Awards.
The illustrious annual event, which was established in 1993, starts with a series of gala ceremonies this summer, where regional winners will be announced for Asia & Australasia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa & the Indian Ocean, North America & the Caribbean and Latin America before the worldwide victors are revealed at the Grand Final in December.
Ireland as a whole is up for the title of "Europe's Leading Destination", while both Dublin and Belfast are among the contenders for "Europe's Leading City Break Destination". The European regional winners will be announced at a gala in St. Petersburg's on September 30, as reported by joe.ie,
