Dunnes Stores Looks To Transform Former Dublin Pub

It's been announced that Dunnes Stores has set its sights on establishing a new high-end outlet at the former Playwright pub of the Dublin suburb of Blackrock.

As reported by The Irish Independent, the pub was purchased in 2014 by Irish Starbucks license holders Ciaran and Colum Butler, who subsequently secured planning permission to covert the premises into a shop.

Speculation

This led to speculation that either Lidl or Aldi would take over the property, but it has now been revealed Dunnes is seeking approval to move into the former pub.
