Boojum Records 52% Rise In Revenues

New figures filed by Modern Restaurants Concepts Ltd have revealed that revenues at Mexican restaurant chain Boojum rose 52% from €12.14 million to €18.46 million during the year that ended on April 23, 2018.

The Irish Independent quotes the company's directors as saying that 2018 "was a year of substantial growth" for Boojum, with the opening of seven new branches.

Operating Profits, Pre-Tax Losses, Lease Charges And Staff Statistics

Expansion costs led to the company's operating profits dropping 35% to €744,269 during the year that ended on April 23 last year, while pre-tax losses of €653,456 arose as a result of foreign exchange losses of €205,499, interest charges of €274,407 and exceptional costs of €917,819.

Additionally, Boojum's operating lease charges rose from €350,644 to €738,088 and the number of people employed by the company increased from 248 to 422, with staff costs increasing from €3.62 million to €6.48 million.
