The Cliff at Lyons in Co. Kildare has announced it will launch a private City and Guilds certified, professional cookery school in January.
Cliff at Lyons says the courses run are suitable for 'aspiring chefs who will receive expert tuition in a professional environment'.
The Academy courses will run three days a week for 20 weeks, including two weeks work experience in a 5-star property.

"The benefit of learning in this environment is smaller classes for more personal tuition with Internationally recognised instructors," it states on the Cliff at Lyons website.
"The facilities, which occupy the lower floor of a stone-made house in the central courtyard, feature a central marble worktop with 10 ovens and a series of stainless-steel work stations with a total of 12 inset four-ring hobs. There is also additional open storage, stainless-steel draining boards, sinks and work areas, and two further ovens," it adds.
Further progression and job opportunities include commis chef in restaurants, hotels, personal chef, food business ownership and management.
