Dispute Between RGRE And Bewley's To Go To Mediation

A dispute between Ronan Group Real Estate (RGRE) Grafton Ltd and Bewley's over the latter company's café on Dublin's Grafton Street is to go to mediation.

It was revealed last week that RGRE had taken High Court action against Bewley's over alleged unpaid rent for its now closed café on Dublin's Grafton Street.

RGRE was the café's landlord.

Mediation Agreement

However, when RGRE's application to have the case admitted to the Commercial Court came before Mr Justice David Barniville on Monday July 13, he was told that, while there was no objection to the case being fast-tracked, RGRE and Bewley's have agreed to go to mediation on July 20.

Barnville agreed to admit the case to the Commerical Court, but adjourned making any further directions to facilitate the mediation, noting that it may be unnecessary to proceed if the mediation succeeds, as well as saying that he "very much welcomed" that the parties have engaged constructively, as reported by The Irish Times.
