McDonald's To Launch Its First Fully Vegan Meal In January

McDonald's has announced that it is planning to launch its first ever vegan meal on January 2.

The fast food chain's new "Veggie Dippers" will consist of red pepper, rice, sun-dried tomato pesto and split peas surrounded by breadcrumbs, and have been accredited as vegan by The Vegetarian Society.

Customers will have the options of ordering the "Veggie Dippers" as part of a meal that will include vegan accredited fries and any of the chain's soft drink options and sauces. The "Veggie Dippers" will also be available as part of a fully vegan Happy Meal.

"A Delicious Addition"

Head of food marketing at McDonald's UK & Ireland Thomas O'Neill stated, "In the last 12 months, we've seen an 80% uplift in customers ordering vegetarian options at McDonald's, so it is time for the brand famous for the dippable McNugget to launch a dippable option for our vegetarian, vegan and flexitarian customers. The 'Veggie Dippers' are a delicious addition to our menu and we're looking forward to seeing what customers make of our first vegan Extra Value Meal and Happy Meal in the New Year."
