Dublin restaurateur and director of Bel and Bellucci (Ballsbridge) Ltd Robbie Fox has appealed plans approved by Dublin County Council to demolish his Bellucci’s restaurant in Ballsbridge, Dublin, to make way for a new mixed-use development that would include a new restaurant.
"Completely Unacceptable"
According to The Irish Times, Fox said the proposal "would require the extinguishment of the Bellucci’s business which is completely unacceptable from our point of view…We have no objection in principle to the redevelopment of the site, particularly with the replacement of a suitable restaurant within which we would be happy to relocate our existing business, subject to agreement and terms."
Fox told An Bord Pleanála that he has issues with the design of the proposed alternative restaurant, saying he believes these issues "should be taken into account by the board in deciding whether to grant, refuse or modify the terms of the decision to grant".
