Supermac's Serves Up Record Profits As Expansion Plans Continue

Supermac's Holdings, one of Ireland's recent business success stories, has reported that pre-tax profits doubled to €14 million last year.

The group, owned by Pat McDonagh and his wife Una, which includes Supermac's fast food chain, hotels and property investments, saw revenues rise by 24 per cent to €116 million.

The Irish Independent reports that Supermac's Holdings broke the €100m barrier in revenues for the first time as income soared by 24.5 per cent to €116m in a record year.

"We are delighted with the results across the board for the business last year and the challenge now will be to keep it going," said McDonagh", which added that expansion saw another 304 directly employed, with numbers increasing from 1,032 to 1,336.

The group opened its 106th Supermac's outlet in Charlestown, Co Mayo onFriday, with plans to open another four or five outlets next year.
