Supermac's To Transition From Frozen To Fresh Chips

Irish fast food chain Supermac's is set to exchange its frozen chips for fries cooked fresh from potatoes peeled and chopped in store.

While the transition won't occur in every outlet simultaneously, company founder Pat McDonagh believes that the move will vastly improve upon the taste of the already popular side order.

McDonagh told joe.ie that the idea is to complement the fresh meats that Supermac's uses for its burgers and chicken dishes. He asserted that "The chicken breast sandwich tastes so good because it's a fresh product. Anything you freeze loses some of its quality. Likewise with the fresh meats, there's a better taste, better flavor, it's better quality across the board and we know this because we're selling more of them."
