Wowburger Expands As Dublin Welcomes A Number Of New Bar And Restaurant Openings

Dundrum Town Centre has welcomed a new street-food style restaurant called Oxaca, joining popular burger chain Five Guys and its new food hall.

It comes from the team behind Xico on Baggot Street and specialises in Asian, Mexican and BBQ cuisine as well as cocktails. Dishes on offer include charred flank steak tostados with red onion, mint slaw and roasted red pepper aioli; slow-cooked brisket with horseradish cream; and pad thai.

A new bar called The Jug has opened on Francis Street in Dublin. It's not the only new bar opening this month as The Barbers, which combines a barber shop and a pub, has opened in Stoneybatter. Owner Chris Darby told that there will be a "serious amount" of good whiskey's and gins as well as craft beer and live music.

The father of Olympic gold medallist boxer Katie Taylor has opened a boxing-themed healthy-eating cafe called KO Fit Food Co in Bray. Discussing the opening with The Irish Sun, Taylor said: "The only place kind of similar is the Happy Pear which is vegetarian. I am a foodie, I eat all the time. And I said there was nowhere in Bray if you wanted healthy food. That’s why I decided to do this. I do work here a lot but it’s the girls behind the counter and Rachel that make all the food. It’s all home-made. I wouldn’t know how to turn on a cooker to be honest."

BoCo, a bar and wood-fired pizza restaurant, has opened on Dublin's Bolton Street. It serves craft beer, gins, cocktails and pizzas, 'with a New York twist', at 500 degrees. Options include pizza's with anchovy, rocket, parmesan and garlic oil, as well one with blue cheese, fresh figs and walnuts.

Popular burger venue, Wowburger, has expanded from its location in The Workman's Club on Wellington Quay, opening a new restaurant in the basement of Mary's Bar and Hardware on Wicklow Street. It also has plans to open an additional Wowburger in the centre of Ranelagh.
