Diageo has announced that Melissa Bethell will become a non-executive director of the company on June 30.
Bethell, who will also join Diageo's audit, nomination and remuneration committees upon her appointment, is the managing partner of investment firm Atairos Europe, and previously worked in various roles at global private equity firm Bain Capital for over 18 years. Before joining Bain Capital, Bethell worked as an analyst in the Fixed Income Capital Markets group at Goldman Sachs.
Bethell is also currently a non-executive director of both Tesco plc and Exor (EXO.MI), and was non-executive director of Atento until November of 2018.
