Ireland’s Food Offering Showcased In Selfridges Foodhall

A special ‘Taste the Emerald Isle’ pop-up is showcasing the best of Irish food and drink in the Selfridges Foodhall on London’s Oxford Street during August and September.

Tourism Ireland worked with Bord Bia and Selfridges for the launch event on August 22, which saw  celebrity chef Clodagh McKenna preparing Irish treats for the invited food, travel and lifestyle journalists and bloggers. Featuring more than 40 well-known Irish food brands, as well as various artisan producers, the pop-up includes the likes of Avoca, McCambridge Bread, Flahavan’s, Carlingford oysters, Lismore Food Company biscuits, Connemara Peated Irish Whiskey and Glendalough Gin.

"A Superb Choice For 'Foodies'"

Julie Wakley, Tourism Ireland’s head of Great Britain, commented, “We’re delighted to work with Selfridges and Bord Bia on this ‘Taste the Emerald Isle’ promotion. It’s another excellent opportunity to spread the word about our superb culinary offering and what makes a holiday in Ireland unique and truly memorable. Our message here in Britain is that the island of Ireland is a superb choice for ‘foodies’ for a holiday or long weekend break.”

The ‘Taste the Emerald Isle’ promotion will also include two chef’s dinners (one hosted by Rory O’Connell of Ballymaloe Cookery School) and a Carlingford Oyster and Glendalough Gin tasting evening.
