The Lodge At Ashford Castle Introduces Gourmet Picnic Hampers

The Lodge at Ashford Castle’s executive head chef Jonathan Keane and his team have created new summer picnic hampers with a selection of sweet treats and savory bites made fresh each day for guests.

Each wicker picnic basket will include a picnic blanket, utensils, and drinkware which can be easily transported, if customers want to explore the estate grounds by foot or the hotel’s complimentary bike hire, or travel further afield and explore the surrounding areas of Connemara.

Burren Smoke House Salmon

Picnic hampers are priced at €50 per person and guests are asked to order their picnic hamper 24 hours in advance.

The newly launched picnic hampers from The Lodge at Ashford Castle will offer Burren Smoke House salmon on sourdough bread, artisan meats from the west of Ireland, homemade apple juice, freshly baked lemon curd tartlets or crumbly chocolate cookies.

Lanson Champagne

Guests can choose a bottle of prosecco or champagne to go with their hamper from The Lodge at Ashford Castle’s exclusive green and sustainable wine menu. The options include a bottle of Pet-Nat Rosé or Lanson Champagne.

As director of marketing and revenue, O’Donoghue is responsible for safeguarding and further promoting the Ashford estate.

She will also oversee revenue generation for both Ashford Castle and sister hotel the Lodge at Ashford Castle.
