Aer Lingus Evaluating Over 15 New North American Routes; Postpones Launch Of Dublin-Montreal Route

Aer Lingus is evaluating over 15 new North American routes with an eye to potentially launch them over the next half decade.

The Irish Times quotes Aer Lingus chief executive Sean Doyle as saying, "We’re evaluating north of 15 [routes] at the moment, and that will increase with the range capability of the technology that’s coming our way."

Dublin-Montreal Delay

Meanwhile, the airline has also announced that the planned August 8 launch of a new route between Dublin and Montreal has been postponed until the summer of 2020 because new aircraft ordered by the company will not be ready in time.

Aer Lingus issued a statement saying, "All guests booked to fly on affected flights are being accommodated on alternative flights. Aer Lingus wishes to apologise for the inconvenience caused."
