Aer Lingus & Ryanair Make Skytrax's Top 100 Airline List For 2017

London-based air transport rating organisation Skytrax has revealed the winners for its 2017 World Airline Awards, with Ireland's two most prominent airlines making it onto its list of the world's top 100 airlines.

As reported by The Irish Independent, out of the 320 airlines surveyed for the awards, Aer Lingus was ranked as the world's 38th best, moving up 11 places after being assigned the 49th spot last year. Ryanair, on the other hand, came in at 76th, vastly improving upon its 2016 ranking of 108th.

However, Qatar Airways, which recently launched a new route between Dublin and Doha, was the big winner, being named "Airline of the Year" as well as "World's Best Business Class". Other airlines that received recognition included Air Canada, which took the trophy for "Best North American Airline", and Aegean, which was voted Europe's best regional airline.
