Irish Celebrities Answer The ‘Call Of The Wild’

Tourism Ireland has teamed up with a number of Irish celebrities as part of a new global social media campaign. Personalities such as Angela Scanlon, Laura Whitmore, Vogue Williams and Connor Phillips, rugby player Paul O'Connell, Young Offenders star Chris Walley, chef Clodagh McKenna, and doctor and TV presenter Pixie McKenna have all taken to social media to share their personal stories and memories of the Wild Atlantic Way.

The stars have also shared a number of short online films with their followers. The films were created as part of the 'Call of the Wild' campaign to highlight some of the unique experiences along the Wild Atlantic Way. 'Call of the Wild' is a joint initiative between the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland which was devised to encourage people living along the Wild Atlantic Way to share photos and videos on social media that showcase the beauty of the west coast.

Helping To Spread The Word

"Tourism Ireland is delighted to partner with these well-known Irish personalities to highlight the Wild Atlantic Way," said Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland. "Their social media accounts are really popular in Britain, so their personal stories are a really good opportunity to showcase the west of Ireland to a large audience of potential British visitors, helping us to spread the word about what makes a holiday along the Wild Atlantic Way so memorable."
