One of Ireland's largest leisure and hospitality groups saw its profits rise by 44 per cent last year to €2.8 million.

Press Up Entertainment group, which currently operates 19 hospitality businesses in Ireland, recorded the jump in operating profits after revenues rose by 5 per cent last year from €29.88m to €31.52m.

According to the Irish Examiner, the best performing business in the group was the firm that controls popular late night venue Everleigh Garden in Dublin, which saw its profits increase to almost half a million.

Press Up Entertainment is owned by investors Paddy McKillen Jr. and partner Matt Ryan. It has been rapidly expanding its portfolio over the last number of years, famously opening the first new hotel in Dublin for nearly two years, The Dean Hotel.

It recently announced the opening of its 19th business (24 properties in total) with its new Italian restaurant, Angelina's. It also recently purchased Kiely's pub in Dublin's Mount Merrion area.

Other businesses in the group's portfolio include Captain America's, Wagamama, the Clarence Hotel, Vintage Cocktail Club and Suas Bar in Cork.
