Obama May Visit Wexford

Wexford is hoping to welcome President Barack Obama next June as part of celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy visiting the county in 1963. The US president will be in Northern Ireland to attend the G8 Summit and it is hoped that he might make a brief return visitto the Republic. First Lady Michelle Obama is quoted as expressing an interest in bringing her children Sasha and Malia on a visit to Moneygall. Meanwhile, members of the Kennedy family are due to attend the official opening of a new €1.5m visitor centre and associated events.
