Irish Restaurant & Hotels Sector Forecasting Hiring Surge

The Irish restaurant and hotels sector is reporting robust year on year growth in expected employment for Q2 of 2016, according to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey.

In fact, the sector is reporting the strongest year on year growth out all of the 11 sectors evaluated by Manpower, up 28 percentage points on the same period last year to register an Employment Outlook of +12%.

The survey claims that Irish employers are expecting to increase staffing levels across most industry sectors during the second quarter of 2016. The figures show that Irish employers are reporting a seasonally adjusted Net Employment Outlook of +5% for April to June 2016, 'maintaining the cautiously optimistic forecast previously reported for the first quarter of the year'.

The survey also shows that staffing levels across 10 of the 11 sectors surveyed are reporting growth for Q2 2016.

"The results of our survey clearly show continued employer confidence in 2016. Staffing levels are forecast to grow in 10 of the 11 industry sectors surveyed; this demonstrates a sustained level of employer confidence for the second quarter of the year," said Cara O’Leary, Sales Director, ManpowerGroup Ireland.

"The Restaurant and Hotels sector is expected to enjoy the highest levels of year on year growth in employment levels, as demonstrated by recent news that a number of new hotels are to be built in Dublin city centre," she added.
