Ryanair Announces Maintenance Agreements; Drops Mandatory Mask Rule; Adds Extra Flights For Heineken Cup Final; Opens Shannon Maintenance Facility

Ryanair has announced new maintenance agreements, the dropping of the mandatory mask rule, the addition of extra flights of the Heineken Cup final and the opening of a new maintenance facility at Shannon Airport.

Caerdav Maintenance Agreement

In a statement published on Corporate.Ryanair.com, Ryanair has announced a new winter maintenance agreement with UK-based maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) provider Caerdav that will see Ryanair undertake two lines of heavy maintenance with Caerdav at its modern MRO facility in Cardiff, Wales.

Mandatory Face Mask Rule Dropped

In a subsequent statement published on Corporate.Ryanair.com, Ryanair has announced that face masks are no longer mandatory on EU flights or in EU airports, with the exception of on flights to or from destinations where governments still have a mandatory mask rule for public transport, with Austria, Cyprus, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain still having a mandatory mask rule for public transport, statement published on Corporate.Ryanair.com.

STS Aviation Group Maintenance Agreement

In a subsequent statement published on Corporate.Ryanair.com, Ryanair has announced a new winter maintenance agreement with UK MRO provider STS Aviation Group that will see Ryanair undertake two lines of heavy maintenance at its MRO facility in Birmingham, England.

Extra Flights For Heineken Cup Final

In a subsequent statement published on Corporate.Ryanair.com, Ryanair has announced that it has added extra flights between Dublin and Marseille on 27 May and 29 May to accommodate individuals who are travelling to Marseille for the 2022 Heineken Cup final on 28 May, with the additional flights being from Dublin to Marseille at 8am on 27 May and from Marseille to Dublin at 9.30pm on 29 May, according to the statement published on Corporate.Ryanair.com.

New Shannon Airport Maintenance Facility

In a subsequent statement published on Corporate.Ryanair.com, Ryanair has announced that it has opened its first aircraft heavy maintenance facility in Ireland at Shannon Airport, delivering an €10 million investment and creating 200 jobs at the three-bay facility, which is leased from Shannon Airport operator Shannon Group (5,220 m2) and will support the maintenance of the Ryanair fleet as it grows to 600 aircraft by 2026, according to the statement published on Corporate.Ryanair.com.
