Ryanair Reduces Its Flight Schedule By 20% For September And October

Ryanair has announced that it is reducing its flight schedule by 20% for September and October due to a decline in forward bookings as a result of the continuing COVID-19 crisis.

Flight Frequency Reductions

Ryanair said that the majority of its schedule cuts will be flight frequency reductions rather than route closures, and that the cuts will be heavily focussed on countries where recent rises in COVID-19 case rates have led to increased travel restrictions, such as Spain, France, Sweden and Ireland.

"Unavoidable"

A Ryanair spokesperson stated, "These capacity cuts and frequency reductions for the months of September and October are unavoidable, given the recent weakness in forward bookings due to COVID restrictions in a number of EU countries."
