Ryanair Sees Record June As Traffic Rises 11%

Ryanair flew a record 19.3 million passengers in June, up 11% from a year earlier, the low-cost airline said on Tuesday.

Europe's largest airline by passenger numbers expects to fly a record 198 million to 200 million people for its financial year to end-March 2025, up 8% to 9% on the previous year.

Summer Airfares

The Irish carrier said in May that it would have to keep peak summer airfares flat to modestly ahead of last year, rather than the 5% to 10% rise it had expected due to weaker consumer sentiment.

This means its flights were on average 95% full in June, unchanged on a year earlier.

Ryanair carried 18.9 million passengers in May, equalling its previous monthly record.

Summer Cocktails

In May, Ryanair launched a new in-flight cocktail menu with an array of drinks from just €9.50.

To celebrate the summer season, Ryanair launched a variety of seven different cocktails, including a Dublin Lemonade (Jameson Irish Whiskey, Sprite Zero and sparkling water), a Fruit Snack, (Bombay Sapphire Gin, Sprite Zero and Capri-sun), Rose Spritz (rose wine and Sprite Zero) or a Flying Iced Tea (Bombay Sapphire Gin, Absolut Vodka and Coca-Cola).

'Summer Holiday'

“Summer is finally here, and what better way to kickstart your summer holiday than with a delicious cocktail from Ryanair’s new in-flight cocktail menu," said Jade Kirwan, Ryanair’s head of communications.

"Adding to our already extensive range of in-flight food and beverage options, our new cocktail range offers a selection of seven ready to drink cocktails from Flying Iced Tea to French 75 to Rose Spritz and more."
