Ryanair's March Traffic Declines 48% To 5.7m Customers

Ryanair has released its traffic statistics for March, revealing that the company's total traffic declined 48% to 5.7 million customers from 10.9 million in March of 2019, with a load factor of 91%.

Ryanair And Laudamotion Specific Numbers

Ryanair specific traffic declined 48% from 10.9 million in March of last year to 5.7 million in March of 2020, with a load factor of 91%, while Laudamotion passenger numbers declined 50% to 0.2 million from 0.4 million in March of 2019, with a load factor of 91%.

Additionally, the company's rolling annual traffic grew 4% to 148.6 million.

COVID-19 Impact

Ryanair operated over 33,000 of the 64,000 scheduled flights it had budgeted in March, including a number of rescue and medical flights on behalf of various EU governments.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Ryanair said that it expects to carry minimal if any traffic during April and May.

Expected Post-Tax Profit

Ryanair also said that it expects its post-tax profit for the year that ended on March 31 to be between €950 million and €1 billion.
