Heineken Ireland Revenues Spike 4%

Heineken Ireland's like for like revenues increased by four per cent in 2016, with the company stating that the result "reflects the change in its wholesale business model".

Heineken grew its share of the total Long Alcohol Drinks (LAD*) market in Ireland by 0.8%, growing in both the on and off trade channels, supported by the successful introduction of Heineken Light.

The drinks company's share of the total cider market jumped to 11.2%, driven by Orchard Thieves, which is now the number two cider brand in the market place in both channels, behind Bulmers, commanding 10.3% of the total cider market.

The company went on to say that 2016 was another year of share growth for Coors Light (+0.4%), maintaining its position as the number one bottled beer in the on Trade.

Maggie Timoney, MD Heineken Ireland, commented: "2016 saw growth for Heineken Ireland across both the on trade and off trade channels. Our share of Long Alcohol Drinks (LAD*) market grew by 0.8%, driven by growth in Heineken and a strong innovation performance, led by Orchard Thieves".
