Ashford Castle Named Ireland’s Best Hotel Spa

The Spa at Ashford Castle has been named Ireland’s Best Hotel Spa for the eighth consecutive year at the annual World Spa Awards.

The World Spa Awards aim to celebrate and reward excellence in spa-and-wellness tourism through the annual awards programme.

Luxury Irish Products

The Spa at Ashford Castle, which is the only hotel spa in Ireland to have achieved a Forbes five-star ranking, features five treatment rooms, a relaxation pool, a steam room, and a terrace area with views across Lough Corrib.

With a treatment menu that includes hammam – not often found in Ireland – the Spa uses luxury Irish products from Voya and Red Carnation Hotels’ own B|Africa product range, along with family-owned Spanish brand Natura Bissé.

The spa won the Best in Sustainability award at the Irish Tatler Awards in 2019.

‘Remarkable Year’

“This has been a remarkable year for the team at the Spa, having firstly been awarded a Forbes five-star rating and now, once again, winning this global award, of which we are so proud,” said Michelle Ryan, director of spa and wellness at Ashford Castle.

“We do offer something quite unique, and every experience at the Spa reflects the unrivalled service, attention to detail, and warm hospitality guests expect from every element of their Ashford Castle visit.”

Multigenerational Resort

Ashford Castle has been in existence, beside Lough Corrib, for over 800 years.

The castle has 83 individually designed rooms, along with a historic boathouse perched over the lake.

Ashford Castle was once home to the Guinness family and is today a multigenerational resort.
