Ireland’s Dalata Hotel Group is encouraging its staff to run, jog, walk or swim after setting a target of raising over €40,000 for its charity partners.
Details
Dalata Hotel Group Plc wants its colleagues to cover a combined 4,220 kilometres – the distance between the popular hospitality company’s 49 hotels – and raise at least €42,200, which will be split across its three charity partners.
The Great Dalata Challenge will take place during Dalata Digs Deep Week (12-18 September), which is the company’s annual fundraising week, and as many colleagues as possible are being encouraged to take part.
The challenge is part of Dalata’s three-year commitment to its new charity partners: the Marie Keating Foundation, Leukaemia Care and Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.
Dalata raised a grand total of €1.5 million for its previous charity partners through employee fundraising and matching corporate donations.
This year, the employee-driven initiative will see each hotel hold an innovative fundraising event that involves covering a combined distance, with colleagues being encouraged to cover a distance with which they are comfortable.
Statement By Dalata Chief Operating Officer
Dalata chief operating officer Des McCann said that Dalata Digs Deep Week has become an integral part of the company’s charity fundraising efforts, stating, “I know we have wonderful staff at Dalata, but I am constantly amazed at the effort our colleagues put in to raise money for our charity partners.
“Our colleagues have really bought into our fundraising initiatives and go above and beyond to help other people when they need it most. It is humbling to see how everyone at Dalata plays a part in helping us raise vital funds for our charity partners.
“The Great Dalata Challenge is a new initiative for Dalata Digs Deep Week and will connect all of our hotels in Ireland, the UK and Germany to be part of a bigger goal.
“As well as raising funds for our wonderful new charity partners, this initiative also underlines our commitment to health and well-being as a company, and the events are a brilliant way for colleagues to connect and have some fun.”
