€35m Extension Approved For Radisson Blu Golden Lane

An Bord Pleanála has approved planning permission for a €35 million extension to the Radisson Blu hotel on Dublin's Golden Lane, with construction set to start before the end of the year.

The Irish Independent reports that while the Rhatigan Group's Luxor Investments initially filed for an eight-storey extension encompassing an additional 103 bedrooms, the proposal has since been revised to six stories.

A spokesman for the Rhatigan Group stated that the company hopes to have the extension finished by late 2019 and that the endeavour will generate 125 construction jobs as well as 20 to 30 permanent jobs at the hotel upon completion.

An Bord Pleanála approved the extension plans despite objections from An Taisce, which asserted that the development would adversely impact residential amenity and cause property devaluation due to its size.
