Hodson Bay's 257-bed Dublin Hotel Gets Go Ahead

It is being reported that Hodson Bay hotel group's new €40m 257-bed hotel planned for Dublin has been given the green light and work will begin once final approval is obtained.

The Hodson Bay Group, one of the few remaining hotel groups owned by an Irish family, is looking to build the new hotel on a site on Dean Street, close to St Patrick’s Cathedral in the Coombe area of the capital.

The Irish Independent reports that Hodson Bay owner John O’Sullivan hopes to have the hotel up and running within a year of final approval, with the four star establishment is expected to employ up to 200 full time staff  and likely to be opened under the Sheraton brand.

The report adds that the development which will adjoin Fallon’s pub, a protected structure, 'will range in height from three to six stories high comprising of 257 bedrooms, reduced from the planned 263 bedrooms as a condition of planning', and will include a café bar/restaurant along with meeting and conference facilities.
