The Kilmainham Hilton Hotel has been sold to Tifco Hotel Group by Lalco, Irish developer John Lally's company.

Tifco, which owns and operates a number of hotels in Ireland including the Clontarf Castle Hotel, announced that it will take over ownership and management duties of the hotel in a statement.

The hotel will remain as a franchise under the Hilton brand, according to the Irish Times.

Lalco, which is in Nama, owns and runs seven hotels in Ireland, including the Westin in Dublin, which it bought with backing from US billionaire John Malone for €65 million last summer.

The Kilmainham Hilton joins Tifco's portfolio of 12 Irish hotels that it owns and manages, which include the five-star Heritage Killenard and the Crowne Plaza franchise.
