New 115-bedroom 'Compact Hotel' Set For Andrews Lane Theatre
One of Dublin's most iconic venues, Andrews Lane Theatre, is to be turned into a new 115-bedroom 'compact' hotel after it was sold for €4.4m.

The Irish Times reports that the venue in central Dublin has been snapped up by a consortium of private investors led by Adrian Shanagher’s Firebreak Hospitality, which will reportedly invest, subject to planning permission, around €10m into the property to change it into a limited-service hotel.

Although planning permission could take between nine and 12 months to secure, if granted, the hotel is expected to offer rooms between 10sq m and 12sq m, while it is not expected to serve food or drink.

"This is a new concept for Dublin but experience in other cities shows that guests are happy to pay for smaller rooms to be in the heart of the city and are satisfied with the limited service in the hotel given the availability of food and drink locally," states the report.
