CBRE have confirmed the launch of the sale of the Slieve Russell Hotel Golf & Country Club. The resort hotel is expected to achieve a price in the region of €35 million.

“The unique opportunity to acquire one of Irelands best known and highly profitable resort hotel rarely presents itself," said Paul Collins, head of CBRE Hotels Ireland.

"The scale of ongoing investment in the hotel’s facilities and growing business will appeal to the national and international investment market”.

Extensions

The resort on approximately 300 acres, opened in 1990 and has had numerous extensions over the years and now the buildings extend to approximately 27,500 square metres.

The hotel has had capital investment of almost €7.5 million since 2019.

The Ciúin Spa

The 224-bedroom hotel includes extensive banqueting and leisure facilities together with a renowned PGA Championship golf course.

The Ciúin Spa at Slieve Russell features 13 treatment rooms, is a sanctuary of relaxation nestled within the tranquil countryside. The Slieve Russell Country Club facilities include a 20 metre pool, Jacuzzi steam room, sauna and fitness suite.

PGA Championship Golf Course

The resort features a 18-hole championship course, a 9-Hole Par 3 Academy Course, a 3-Bay Floodlit Driving Range, a Putting Green and a Practice Area.

Slieve Russell is one of just eight PGA National designated resorts in the world. The Championship par-72 course measures over 7,000 yards. It is set amongst a backdrop of Cavan’s countryside lakes and drumlins with part of the 50 acres of water that make up the Slieve Russell estate playing an intricate part in the design.

PGA Pro-Am

Slieve Russell is the home club of Irish golfing star Leona Maguire and has attracted some major golf tournaments over the years, hosting two European Tour events and the Irish PGA Championship.

Additionally, since 1997, the venue also stages an annual PGA pro-am.
